Nuclear Family

The Nuclear Family is a family group composed of a mother, a father, and their children, previously considered to be the most basic unit of society. In the strictest sense, the parents are married to each other, and their children are their biological offsprings. Recently however, the definition of a Nuclear Family has expanded to include step parents, step children, or adopted children, and may even include same-sex couples.
