Lazy Eye
The three types of "lazy eye" are strabismic amblyopia, refractive amblyopia, and deprivation amblyopia.
* Strabismic amblyopia occurs when the brain repeatedly ignores the information from the misaligned eye.
* Refractive amblyopia is due to the unequal refraction in both eyes despite normal alignment. For instance, one eye may be farsighted and the brain may often ignore the information from it.
* Deprivation amblyopia occurs when light cannot regularly enter into an eye due to a certain obstruction such as congenital cataract.
