Informal Communication
Informal communication is a business jargon which pertains to an exchange of information which is spontaneous and casual. This kind of communication is informal as it does not conform to the given procedures and standards. This is also referred to as a “grapevine” since it is relatively difficult to identify the beginning and end of the communication. For instance, gossip within an organization obviously does not follow the chain of command, has an indefinite communication channel, and arises out of employees’ socialization activities.
