Visual Aura
A visual aura, also known as a visual migraine, is a vision disturbance that sometimes precedes a migraine headache. These start as a spot of flickering light near or in the center of the visual field of both eyes, which prevents vision within the scotoma area, although vision remains normal outside of the affected area. The "aura" often functions as a warning sign that a full-blown migraine headache is on its way.
