Utility

Utility is a measure of how satisfying, rewarding, and pleasurable consuming or experiencing a particular thing is. A main tenet of the doctrine of Utilitarianism, utility is not only the happiness derived from an object itself but how useful, satisfying, and beneficial something is. This is a common concept in economics where utility can be empirically measured by comparing how much people are willing to pay for different things.
