Tropism

Tropism is a trait more associated with plants than with people or animals. In plants it is the trait of turning towards the sun like many flowers do during the daytime. It is caused by the plant's instinct to expose its leaves and petals to a maximum amount of light and solar radiation. In a broader usage it is also the tendency of all living things to be controlled by stimulus, moving to or from that stimulus.
