Transitional Probability
Transitional probability is a term primarily used in mathematics and is used to describe actions and reactions to what is called the "Markov Chain." This Markov Chain describes a random process that undergoes transitions from one state to another without the current state being dependent on past state, and likewise the future state is not dependent on the current state. In psychology and education, transitional probability is used to describe use of grammar and syntax within the complexities of spoken language. This is very narrow area of research.
