Tonal-Clonic

Tonal-Clonic is a more and politically correct term that is used to refer to what has traditionally been called grand mal epileptic seizures. This type of generalized epileptic seizure is characterized by loss of consciousness and extreme spastic motions of the arms and legs. These are the types of motions that are also associated with electroconvulsive (shock) therapy.
