Thanatologist

A Thanatologist is a professional (such as a researcher, doctor, or psychologist) that specializes in the study of death and dying. which is called thanatology. Named for Thanatos, the ancient Greek god of death, they study the changes that take place in the body and mind prior to death. They also may study the post-mortem aspects of death. This study includes not only the physical aspects of death, such as bodily changes, but also the social, philosophical, cultural and religious aspects of death and dying.
