Stereotypical Bias
Stereotypical bias is the phenomenon of memory distortion regarding unfounded beliefs on certain groups based on race, gender, etc. This cognitive bias may manifest itself in the misremembering of ethnic-sounding names as the names of criminals, or assuming that all members of certain racial groups are belonging to a lower social class. For instance, someone with stereotypical bias may erroneously remember that an individual is a terrorist just because his name resembles a certain nationality.
