Shapeshifters

Shapeshifters are a part of mythology and folklore in many cultures. The term refers to creatures that are able to change from one form to another. In European/American lore the "werewolf" is the most common example. These werewolves are humans who turn into wolves when the moon is full and this will happen either due to a curse, or having been attacked by another werewolf. These creatures are traditionally portrayed as being vicious and evil. On the other hand, amongst Navajos there is a belief in coyotes that can change themselves into extremely attractive and alluring human beings. But, it is also believed that a person who meets one of these shapeshifters is cursed and needs special ceremonies to be cleansed of that curse.
