Overregularization

Overregularization refers to grammatical errors that usually start in the early stages of a child’s language development where language rules are applied too generally, rather than according to the idiosyncracies (words that don't follow the usual rules of the language) that all languages possess. For example, a child might refer to more than one mouse as mouses rather than mice.
