Oral History

Oral history is the gathering and study of historical data utilizing audio recordings, videos, or transcripts of interviews. It also refers to written work which was based on orally collected information. In the United States, pioneering oral history researchers focused on national leaders. Famous politicians, business icons, diplomats, and military officers were interviewed. These spoken accounts reflect their personal experiences which are treated as primary sources.
