Oneirism

Oneirism is being in an abnormal state of consciousness characterized by having hallucinations or dream-like experiences. This term came from the Greek word “oneiros” which means “dream”. For instance, a patient is screaming because he can see a huge gargoyle flying towards him: he feels like he is in a dream but he is actually awake.
