Neurogenesis

Neurogenesis refers to the process by which neurons or nerve cells are generated in the brain. Neurogenesis is most active during prenatal development, when a baby's brain is being formed. Although it continues through adulthood, new neurons are generated at a much slower pace than during prenatal development. It is believed that neurogenesis may be involved in learning and memory.
