Neurodegenerative Disease

A neurodegenerative disease is a disease process that causes the breakdown of nerves ranging from loss of function to death of the neurons. Some of the most devastating neurodegenerative diseases are amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and Huntington's disease.
