Narcotics Anonymous (NA)
Narcotics anonymous (NA) is a support program for individuals who want to overcome drug addiction. This was founded by Jimmy Kinnon in 1953 and the headquarters is located in Chatsworth, Los Angeles. NA was created as a response to the success of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). It aims to be more inclusive by welcoming any individual who wants to recover from any kind of addiction. It employs the 12-step-model which is also being used in AA. The meetings may be closed or open. Closed meetings are only for the recovering addicts while open meetings may include merely curious individuals or loved ones who wish to show support.
