Myopathy
Myopathy came from the Greek words ”myo” which means “muscle” and “pathos” which means “suffering” or “disease." It is a muscle disease which is generally characterized by muscle weakness, stiffness, involuntary contractions, and cramps. Myopathies have varied causes. They include genetics, infections, endocrine problems, and drugs. For instance, inflammatory myopathies are a group of conditions characterized by persistent muscle inflammation and weakness (some experience muscle pain).
