Kinesthetics

Kinesthetics is the study of body motion and how it relates to both the conscious and unconscious perception of those body movements. It is used to help people who are in need of help in performing ADLs (activities of daily living) and for "somatic reprogramming" which is the retraining of neurological/muscular connections to make physical movement more efficient. This technique was first developed by Frank White Hatch, a choreographer and dancer, who first taught this method at University level in the early 1970s and then started using it to work with disabled children.
