Interrogation

Interrogation is a process of questioning that seeks to achieve answers to specific questions. This word is most commonly used in reference to police questioning individuals in relation to criminal matters or military questioning of suspected spies. For example, the police have a promising suspect for a crime. One of their first steps will most likely be to interrogate the suspect - ask them questions geared towards learning information about the suspect or the crime.
