Image therapy is a Slimming World (UK-based weight loss organization) group support system; “IMAGE” is an acronym for Individual Motivation and Group Experience. It aims to help the members by boosting their confidence, enhancing their self-esteem, and teaching them techniques for enduring behavioral change through psychological and behavioral commitment.

There are three stages of Image therapy; during the initial phase, the members receive appropriate praises. Afterwards, each member is given individual attention (usually with group participation) and it ends with specific goals for behavior change targets. Moreover, their practices include keeping the members’ weights confidential, sharing recipes, providing ideas for coping with holiday feasts, and avoiding criticism.
