Homosexuality

Homosexuality is the condition of experiencing physical, emotional and sexual attraction to members of one's own gender. Commonly known as "gay" (applied to either male or female) or "lesbian" (females only) it is both a mindset and a lifestyle that is becoming increasingly prominent and recognized in society. That said, homosexuality is not a universally accepted lifestyle (there is still a great deal of intolerance), personal acknowledgement of this type of attraction, as well as the open adoption of the gay/lesbian lifestyle can cause difficulties with family and friends, as well as society at large.
