Geschwind's Theory
Geschwind's theory refers to a collection of behaviors that are associated with temporal lobe epilepsy ; hypergraphia, hyperreligiosity, atypical (usually reduced) sexuality, circumstantiality, and intensified mental life. Not all need to be present to constitute a diagnosis. Named for Norman Geschwind, the researcher who first documented this syndrome, it is not clearly understood whether this is a a true neuropsychiatric disorder or a side-effect of temporal lobe epilepsy.
