Gemeinshaft

Gemeinshaft is a German word that means community that was paired with Gesellshaft (society), into the phrase "gemeinshaft und gesellshaft" which was first coined by German philosopher Ferdinand Tonnies. This phrase refers to the two chief components of the personal worldview. More recently referred to as the social network, these are the two components that make up the bulk of an individual's social contacts outside of self and family
