Euphenism

A euphenism is a word or phrase that is used in place of words that are rude, socially unacceptable, or just too blunt for people to deal with. For instance, many people use the expressions "passed on" or "gone to heaven" as common euphemisms for death. Euphenisms are also commonly used to disguise sensitive topics from others (such as talking about sex).
