Elite Bilingualism

Elite bilingualism is also known as elective bilingualism; it is the acquisition of a second language through formal study. This is also characterized by a voluntary decision to learn another language; hence, the term “elective” bilingualism. For example, a college student decided to enroll in Spanish class last term; now, he can converse with native Spanish speakers.
