Diminished Awareness
Diminished awareness, simply put, is the tendency to be less aware of mistakes and shortcomings as one grows older. If you think back to childhood you will remember that you could be intensely aware of things that were going on around you with siblings, classmates, playmates, family, and the environment around you. Later, as you grow older, a person's attention becomes more focused. Then, as a person grows into old age, a person's attention and mindset becomes less focused on details and general awareness declines (or diminishes).
