Delay Of Gratification
Delay of gratification is the postponement of a pleasurable experience for a better reward.
For instance, a child who wants a chocolate bar is asked to wait for a couple of hours so he can have two chocolate bars. The ability to defer gratification has been linked to higher education attainment as well as psychological and physical health as it is related to essential skills like self-control, will power, and growth mindset. For example, a person who has will power can resist unhealthy food and demotivating emotional states for a greater outcome which is a healthier and more beautiful body.
