Dactylology
Dactylology came from the Greek word, “daktylos” which means “finger” and “logos” which means “discourse”. It is the use of hands and fingers in communicating with others such as the sign language used by individuals with hearing and speech impairments. Dactylology is also known as fingerspelling and it can be one-handed or two-handed. It also includes tracing letters’ shapes in the air or on the hand.
