Cannabis-Induced Psychotic Disorder
Cannabis-induced psychotic disorder according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM 5) is characterized by delusions and/or hallucinations and an evidence of cannabis use. This disorder is specifically under Substance/Medication-Induced Psychotic Disorder and is specified as “with onset during intoxication” or “with onset during withdrawal”. Cannabis-induced psychotic disorder’s severity may be rated through a quantitative assessment of the hallucinations, delusions, abnormal psychomotor behavior, and other psychosis symptoms.
