Baruch Spinoza Or Benedict De Spinoza
Baruch Spinoza or Benedict De Spinoza (1632-1677) was a Dutch philosopher of Portuguese and Sephardic Jewish ancestry. His rationalist views and concepts of biblical criticism as expressed in 17th century philosophy had a large role in the forming the basis of the 18th century enlightenment. He, Rene Descartes, and Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz are considered by many to be among the top three Rationalists. His most famous work is Ethics, which posits that god is not the creator and ruler of the universe but has evolved into nature itself.
