Autosomal Aberration
When an autosome (chromosome other than those that differentiate sex; they are numbered rather than an X or Y) passed from a parent to child has an abnormality (aberration). A common example of this is in Down Syndrome. This is where the child receives an extra chromosome on trait #21, known as trisomy 21.
