Apotemnophilia
Apotemnophilia is an out-of -date term for a disorder (previously considered a paraphilia) that involves the general or erotic interest in being an amputee. Also known as body integrity identity disorder, amputee identity disorder, and xenomelia, this is another poorly understood condition that causes a person to desire to become an amputee. This disorder is believed to originate in early adolescence and may be triggered by close acquaintance with an amputee. This is the opposite of acrotomophilia, an erotic interest in amputees.
