Allergic Rhinitis
Allergic rhinitis, also termed as hay fever, is characterized by cold symptoms such as runny and itchy nose, sneezing, eyelid swelling, and red, watery, and itchy eyes. This is due to the overreaction of the immune system to allergens such as pollen, dust, mold, pet hair, and perfume. It is also called as hay fever since it is most common during haying season, though it may occur throughout the year. The treatments include allergen immunotherapy and medications such as antihistamines, steroids, and alternative treatments (acupuncture and homeopathy).
