Activities Of Daily Living (ADLs)
Activities of daily living (ADLs) are the activities that healthy, normally functioning people perform daily and often take for granted; getting up in the morning, showering and hair-washing, getting dressed, eating and preparing meals, using the bathroom, etc. These activities, however, can be difficult or impossible for physically or mentally disabled individuals. Physical rehabilitation programs concentrate heavily of assisting the disabled in learning or relearning how to perform many of these activities.
