Accessory Olfactory Bulb

The accessory olfactory bulb is an area of neurons located behind the main olfactory bulb. The group of neurons receive neural information from the vomeronasal organ (VNO) which can detect the presence of particular chemicals when they are smelled. The VNO also detects and controls pheromone effects.
