Academic Problem

Academic problem is a heading found in the DSM-IV that refers to a specific problem that an individual is having with learning. This can be a learning style difference, a learning disability, or a learning challenge that requires an intervention of some sort. Some of the most commonly diagnosed learning disabilities are Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). These problems can interfere with an individual's ability to focus, concentrate, and absorb material being presented.
