AIDS is an acronym for the disease Acquired Immunity Deficiency Syndrome, a condition that causes a breakdown of the human immune system leaving the victim vulnerable to other diseases and conditions. Frequently referred to as a sexually transmitted disease, it can also be transferred through any exchange of, or contact with, infected body fluids.
